This form is intended to assist you in estimating your own monthly early or service (but not disability) retirement benefits; it does not replace the actual calculation of benefits when you retire. The accuracy of the estimate will depend on how closely the variables chosen by you match the actual numbers in the future. This form is not a guarantee that you will receive the benefit options calculated by its use. In addition, any future legislative changes may result in a different estimate of benefits. The benefit you receive from the Retirement System will be determined by the Retirement Systems Division of the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer when you actually retire and elect the option available to you at that time.
