Appointment-only Policy and Visitor Directions

If you have questions about your retirement benefits, make an appointment with one of our benefits counselors Mon-Fri, 8 am - 5 pm. It is helpful if you are within a year of your retirement, as that will allow us to give you the most accurate assessment of your retirement benefits. We also ask that you generate a Custom Benefit Estimate in ORBIT to bring with you. Review the Retirement Readiness Checklist to prepare for your appointment.

To make an appointment, please email NCRetirement@nctreasurer.com. Our office is located at 3200 Atlantic Avenue, Raleigh, NC, 27604. If you are coming from outside the Raleigh area, here is a map to our office

If you are unable to travel to Raleigh for an appointment, but would like more information about the retirement benefits provided to you, we also offer Retirement Planning Conferences in various locations across the state throughout the year. Check the current schedule to find a conference near you.

Fraud, Waste & Abuse

The North Carolina Retirement Systems has created a Fraud and Abuse Hotline that allows citizens to report potentially fraudulent behavior by members, benefit recipients and employers in the Retirement Systems.

You may contact the Retirement Systems’ Fraud and Abuse Office anonymously by phone, email or mail, or you can leave a contact name and phone number in case we need to gather more data.

While the report of fraud and abuse is anonymous, Retirement Systems staff needs as much information as possible to begin an investigation, such as:

Name, address and any phone number(s) of the alleged violater
Name of agency or entity for which the violator works (if applicable)
Detailed explanation of the alleged violation and relevant dates of observation

Report Retirement Systems fraud now using the number or email above, or write us at:

N.C. Retirement Systems Division
Fraud and Abuse Office

North Carolina law grants employee protection and remedies for state and local governmental employees against unlawful retaliation for furnishing information about possible violations of retirement law to the Retirement Systems Division.
